The ABI is the voice of the UK’s insurance, investment and long-term savings industry. It has over 300 members, which together account for around 90% of premiums in the UK domestic market. The creation of the ABI meant that all sectors of the insurance company market could now speak through a single organisation. The ABI’s policy work is organised around four main policy departments: General Insurance; Life and Pensions; Financial Regulation and Taxation and Investment Affairs. The UK insurance industry is the third largest in the world and the largest in Europe, helping individuals and businesses protect themselves against the everyday risks they face. It pays out over £230 million per day in pension and life insurance benefits and over £50 million per day in general insurance claims.

BRAKE is an independent international charity, funded by donations from individuals, companies, and grant givers. BRAKE exists for a simple reason - because every 30 seconds someone, somewhere in the world, is killed in a road crash. Road deaths and injuries, the misery they cause, and the pollution of our planet by vehicles, are a shameful catastrophe that must end. We believe in action by individuals, communities, companies and governments to stop the carnage. We provide the information and initiatives necessary to help people do just that. We believe people whose lives have been devastated by a death or serious injury on the road are the forgotten victims, and need expert and sensitive support to give them the best chance of recovery. We provide this support. Please see our website to find out more about BRAKE and our flagship projects.
Established in 1967, the BVRLA is the trade body for companies engaged in the leasing and rental of cars and commercial vehicles. Membership ranges from all the multinational car rental and leasing companies through to local, independent providers. Through them, the BVRLA represents the interests of more than 2 million business car drivers and the 10 million people who use a rental vehicle each year. The association regulates the industry through its mandatory code of conduct. The BVRLA logo displayed in a branch or leaflet or on a website, is your guarantee that you will receive the highest levels of service. City car, executive saloon, 4x4, MPV or van - whatever your transport needs, a BVRLA member can supply the right vehicle for the job. Whether it is for a day trip, a weekend break to the country or your new sales rep, the vehicle rental and leasing industry can provide you with safe, cost-effective and hassle-free motoring by the hour, day, week, month or year.

The Drivers' Alliance was started in July 2008 to oppose road pricing and congestion charging. We campaign on behalf of drivers frustrated with the government's approach towards car use and driving. Since the 1990's we have seen anti-car policies including parking taxes, congestion charges, toll roads, lower speed limits, traffic lights, road narrowing, too many speed cameras, and never ending roadworks delaying our journeys. In the UK, motoring related taxes come to about £50 Billion a year but only 12% of this is spent on our roads. This is not enough to provide the capacity needed to reduce congestion and with it, emissions. See our website for more details about our campaign aims and principles, plus membership details.
The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) is one of the executive agencies that forms the Motoring and Freight Services group, within the Department for Transport. We are a national organisation delivering tests from over 400 driving test centres and 140 theory test centres. We have statutory responsibility for setting standards and conducting theory and practical driving tests. We are also responsible for the statutory regulation of driving instructors and trainers together with the promotion of voluntary registers and non-statutory activities to improve driving standards. In April 2002 the DSA introduced a voluntary registration scheme for fleet driver trainers. The register was introduced to set standards for those who specialise in providing this type of training and help raise the profile of the training on offer to fleet drivers and their employers.
