Online Grocery Retailer of the Year Ocado is the latest high-profile van fleet to award an exclusive supply deal to Lombard Vehicle Management (LVM).
“Ocado has significant growth plans and needs a supplier that can meet the unique requirements of our business as it develops,” says Ocado Fleet Manager Stuart Skingsley.
“We need a supplier that can support our growth and offer plenty of flexibility and we believe that LVM can provide that. The LVM team took time to understand all our unique requirements and worked out how to accommodate them. We hadn’t seen such a flexible approach from other providers and that made LVM stand out from the crowd.”
The distinctively liveried Ocado vehicles are all Mercedes Sprinters with Paneltex bodies, and they run on a five-year cycle. The first 10 are already with Ocado. A further 80 will be delivered by the end of June, with additional numbers to be confirmed later in the year. The deal was handled by LVM Customer Relationship Manager Rob Hazzard and LVM’s Van Sales Unit.
Recent van supply deals with the AA, BSkyB and British Gas as well as Ocado mean that LVM is behind some of the most recognisable and trusted brands on UK roads.
Ocado (www.ocado.com), which is based in Hatfield, Herts, was launched in 2002 as a revolutionary green alternative to supermarket-based shopping. It is now available to 55% of UK households.
