Over the past twelve months one in ten business drivers has fallen asleep whilst driving. A survey run by Green Flag and Brake showed that motorists who drive for work are twice as likely to fall asleep at the wheel. Brake also estimates that this leads to as many as six deaths a week on roads in the UK.
This news comes shortly before the introduction of the Corporate Manslaughter Act that will see employers risk prosecution if they do not ensure that their employees drive safely on company time.
