New research from The Energy Savings Trust has found that businesses in the UK could save an estimated £3bn a year by switching to green cars that emit less than 120g/km. Many firms are now adopting an environmental policy; partly for the positive image, partly for the financial saving but in all honestly rarely for the good of the planet.

The Government are cracking down on fleets that run high emitting vehicles and this can only lead to fleet managers looking to turn their fleet green by proving their employees with the now, not inconsiderable, range of green cars. If every company car driver drove a sub 120g/km car, 4.9 tonnes less of CO2 would be emitted.

Employees could save a massive £645m in benefit in kind and a staggering £1.2bn in lower fuel costs. For example, an organisation with a 50 strong fleet could save up to £45,000 a year by running a green fleet.
