LeasePlan UK today announced the second part of a deal with Zurich Group, the insurance and financial services provider.

LeasePlan UK is a member of LeasePlan Corporation NV Group and is part of the largest vehicle management group in the world. Having already entrusted the Leaseplan group with a deal for around 9,400 vehicles in the U.S, Zurich has now taken advantage of its International Agreement with LeasePlan to sign a sole supply deal for the 2,800 company car eligible employees in the UK.

The deal is to provide finance and support for a mixture of contract purchase and ECO scheme agreements. The majority of the fleet is made up of perk cars for high-performing employees as well as essential use vehicles for those that travel throughout the UK.

Through the arrangement, Zurich will be able to take advantage of new portal technology specifically implemented for the account. The IT framework provides direct access to a range of applications including online fleet reporting, a quoting and ordering tool and CarWISE Driver - a funding options comparison calculator for drivers. It’s this innovative approach to electronic solutions, along with LeasePlan’s international capabilities, that has seen LeasePlan secure this business.

Pete Steer, UK HR Payroll and Benefits Director at Zurich, comments: “Zurich is committed to building strong supplier relationships that ensure we deliver excellent value for money and provide real operational efficiencies, both at a local and global level.”

“LeasePlan has been providing company cars to Zurich in the US since 2007.  The UK is the second country in the Zurich Group to take advantage of the savings and enhancements offered by our global fleet arrangement.

“With around 2,800 car eligible employees in the UK, our car schemes form an important part of our employee proposition and I am pleased we have been able to agree and implement arrangements with LeasePlan.”
