A specialist in the field of business car software has struck a lucrative deal with Britain’s Transport Police.

Jaama has created a new system for the 430-strong fleet, which is due to go live this month. The fleet management software and occupational road safety specialist will be bringing the police’s collection of databases up to date and online.

Jason Francis, boss of Jaama, said: “British Transport Police had an antiquated collection of databases spread across several locations. We’ve joined them together and made them into a useable system.

“Our system has the ability to automatically send a notification when things aren’t being done properly - and it’s all web-based.”

Jaama has already obtained numerous awards having scooped the prize for ITM best fleet software in 2008 and being named the ITM fleet services company of 2007. Its services help consumers control and maintain vehicles and also meet health and safety responsibilities under occupational road safety regulations.

The deal with the British Transport Police however, marks a change in direction for the company which will now be going public with its deals.

Francis said: “Jaama will be going public with deals from now on. Until now we’ve just been getting on with it. We’re coming up to our fourth year in business, so we have the background and accounts that can stand up to scrutiny.”
