71.92mpg achieved by Marathon 308
A Peugeot 308 SE HDi 110 5dr returned an extraordinary 71.92mpg average over a challenging 330-mile route in the AA/ALD Automotive MPG Marathon. It represents a 7% improvement over Peugeot’s published combined consumption figure of an already impressive 62.7mpg, and enabled the car to win its class just behind other smaller and less powerful cars. The 308 ran on Michelin’s new Energy Saving tyres, standard on all HDi 90 and HDi 110 models with both 15in and 16in wheels. The tyres reduce rolling resistance and offer a CO2 reduction of up to 4g/km, or around a tonne during a typical lifespan.
