Kim Baxter joins from Avis France

Kim BaxterOn 1 September 2008 Kim Baxter takes up her new role as Fleet Director, Avis UK.  Kim joins from Avis France, bringing with her a huge depth of industry understanding and fleet experience gained over 25 years in the business; initially as a receptionist for a rental company, before moving to Renault Europe, and then finally joining Avis in 2005.

While at Avis France Kim was instrumental in successfully developing and implementing a ‘partnership’ approach strategy with manufacturers and fleet suppliers.  Having also assembled a structured fleet department from scratch, Kim is now ready to move on to her next role within Avis.

Kim is excited about her new position saying: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining my new Avis colleagues and working within the UK fleet industry again. I’m looking forward to being part of a successful team and contributing to our sustained growth. I believe that the fleet business is a people business, and it is reassuring to know that I will be working with a group of professionals who have already established strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers alike; I’m hoping to meet up with a few old colleagues and friends in the fleet industry again.”

Kim continues:  “Living in Paris for the past six years has been very rewarding, and has given me a fantastic opportunity to learn a new language, enjoy the culture (especially the food and wine!), and experience  the French way of doing business.  It was a hugely enriching experience for the entire Baxter family.”

Kevin Bradshaw, Managing Director, Avis UK says:  “We are delighted to welcome Kim to the UK team.  I have every confidence that Kim will lead the development of a world class fleet function for Avis UK over the coming year.”
