Over 120 Audi centres are to offer a new menu pricing system to leasing fleet customers using epyx’s 1link e-commerce technology.
Audi National Fleet Service Pricing is being initially piloted by Lloyds TSB Autolease and Zenith Vehicle Contracts until December 2008. After this date Audi plan to extend the scheme to the rest of the contract hire industry.
A wide range of menu priced service and maintenance operations will be offered through the new menu pricing system. These operations will be based on manufacturer service times coupled with competitive parts pricing and one national labour rate. Audi are confident that this will offer the contract hire industry efficiency improvements and real cost savings.
Andrew Wady, National Contract Hire and Leasing Manager at Audi UK, said: “We have been actively working with the contract hire industry for sometime now to find a solution that offers them greater transparency of pricing, improved consistency of charging and a clear pricing offer that offers our fleet customers good value.
“Menu pricing addresses all of these areas and it will also allow much greater accuracy in forecasting service and maintenance budgets. As a result we are confident that the scheme will be welcomed by the contract hire industry as a positive step forward.
epyx already provides service and maintenance menu pricing e-commerce platforms to a number of manufacturers but head of business development Ken Trinder explained that Audi’s is one of the most sophisticated programs yet available.
He said: “Audi and ourselves have put a lot of effort into ensuring that the new menu pricing platform is easy to use for fleets and dealers, and that it produces an environment where the pricing and description of SMR work is highly exact.”
The technology used in the Audi National Fleet Service Pricing platform is based on epyx’s 1link Service Network, effectively the industry standard in this area with fleets totalling more two million vehicles using the platform to book work with 11,000 franchise dealers, independent garages and fast fits.
1link Service Network creates online links between major fleets and providers of maintenance services such as dealers through a fast and accurate online platform. Drivers, service providers and fleets all benefit.
