Ryder Appoints Managing Director, Supply Chain Solutions Europe
Ryder System, Inc., today announced that it is strengthening its global Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) team with the appointment of Mark Van Andel to the newly created position of Managing Director, Supply Chain Solutions Europe. Van Andel will be responsible for the profitability, operating performance and strategic direction of Ryder’s SCS business and operations in the UK and Continental Europe.
“This appointment strengthens Ryder’s Supply Chain Solutions business in Europe and Mark will assist in further driving the integration of Europe with Ryder’s Supply Chain Solutions operations and capabilities in North America, Latin America and Asia.” commented David Bouchard, Managing Director – International, Ryder System, Inc. “Mark brings with him a wealth of expertise and will enable us to develop the business in Europe and support the increasing global sourcing and production needs of the Company’s substantial North American and global customer base.” Van Andel (44) joins Ryder from United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) where he was Director of Contract Logistics for West District, Europe. After joining UPS in 1992, he went on to hold a number of senior positions in sales, business development and operations. Van Andel earned an MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in logistics from the Technische Universiteit Delft in the Netherlands.
