There is a problem for tracker network if the signal to activate the Tracker unit is jammed then the unit will not be able transmit its position to a police unit.

There is a further downside to tracker that if the car is loaded into a container or screened garage before the car is reported missing, the unit will not be able to give a position.

At least with a GPS unit you can get a trail up to the container or garage!!

I was at an exhibition where a Tracker Network stand was present, I had the full sales pitch which claimed that the Tracker unit, unlike the GPS unit, is completely immune to jamming. This is of course complete rubbish, as any radio signal can be jammed – fact! We operate GPS tracking devices that can be tracked by the GSM signal if a GPS signal is jammed. I am disturbed however by the claim that GPS tracking devices are routinely jammed, I suspect this is more a sales ploy by Tracker than a fact.
