Arval win McCormick deal
In a move to streamline their processes and improve efficiency, spice company McCormick have moved their core vehicle fleet and merchandiser fleet across to Arval, Europe’s leading fleet and fuel management company, as part of a four year contract hire deal.
Already a fuel card customer with Arval, McCormick UK Ltd is a market leader in the manufacture, marketing and distribution of spices, seasonings and flavours to the entire food industry. Probably most famous for their Schwartz brand, customers range from retail outlets and food service providers to food processing businesses.
Arval will primarily be providing people carriers to McCormick with two models selected. McCormick are taking delivery of around 220 units of the Vauxhall Zafira, sourced through Birmingham based Lookers Vauxhall, and around 30 units of the VW Caddy Maxi Life. These new vehicles will allow McCormick staff to carry more stock and equipment, allowing them to fulfil their role more effectively.
The package offered by Arval also provides McCormick with accident management, rental and mini lease with Arval also providing consultancy support around health and safety and helping McCormick to manage their fuel costs.
Fiona Hall, Sales Director at Arval comments:
“We have had a successful fuel card relationship with McCormick for some time and they are also a contract hire client of ours in France. We are delighted to be able to build on this relationship in the UK and we look forward to further strengthening our partnership over the next four years.”
With a large proportion of the vehicles already delivered, Arval staff have already shown flexibility in getting the Vauxhall and VW vehicles to McCormick employees. Merchandisers working for McCormick are organised into regional groups across the country. To make life easy for them vehicles were delivered in line with the venues of their regional meetings. At each delivery Arval staff were able to provide training on use of fuel and maintenance cards while Vauxhall staff were on hand to talk about how to make best use of the versatile vehicles.
David Tugwell, Compensation & Benefits Manager for McCormick adds:
“McCormick already has a long standing relationship with Arval and we are delighted to have signed a contract hire deal. This move will provide our employees with vehicles which allow them to carry out their jobs in the most effective way enhancing the service that our customers receive.”
