TransLinc delivers refuse solution to Stockport

The UK’s leading local authority fleet provider, TransLinc, has delivered three new Econic 26 tonne 6×2 mid lift axle Euro V compliant RCVs ( Collection Vehicles) to Solutions SK, Council’s wholly owned operations company, on a 6 year contract hire with maintenance agreement.

The new high-tech vehicles each worth approximately £115,000 are equipped with Dennis Eagle Phoenix 20 bodies and Terberg OmniDEL Extra bin lifts, and will support the expanding recycling collection service.

Selected purposely by Solutions SK for its Euro V emissions compliance, therefore reducing the required road-fund licence charge, the Mercedes Econic RCVs are also easily accessible, with low-entry steps for drivers.  The vehicles also feature an on-board weighing system for the load through air-bag suspension technology.

Rob Hobson, Regional Sales Manager for said: “ has been supplying a variety of vehicles to Stockport Council since 1999 and we are currently looking at further development to provide a wider range of waste collection services. The delivery of the Mercedes Econic RCVs is the first step in this programme, with more to follow in the coming year.

“The new vehicles will primarily be used to support the expanding recycling collection within the local area,” he added.

Nic Cox, Managing Director, Solutions SK said, “We are investing heavily in the recycling service and the three vehicles will be joined by a further 15 over the next year.  The considerable investment is an indication of the customer’s confidence in Solutions SK and in our ability to deliver the best value for money services to match residents’ aspirations.”
