Essential for fleet managers and company car drivers

Masternaut Three X and ISYS integration streamlines waste management

Masternaut Three X and the waste management systems specialist ISYS have tied up a deal to provide fully-automated end-to-end mobile solution for skip and container management. The end result should provides major benefits in terms of optimising delivery and collections, reducing operating costs, streamlining the billing process and providing real-time visibility of the fleet. Based on the cutting-edge ISYS Skipman software package which will be integrated seamlessly with the Masternaut Three X web-based vehicle tracking service, the solution will incorporate GPRS-enabled mobile computers making paper documentation a thing of the past.
The Skipman software manages all aspects of skip movement and hire from initial contact with the customer through to billing, giving full control and reporting functionality for the entire waste management business. With the Masternaut integration, the system communicates wirelessly, relaying important information between the drivers and office using the PDAs. The system generates a job list and sends it to the PDAs giving real-time instruction to the driver. When drivers deliver or collect skips, they will use their PDAs to update their job lists. This information is then transmitted back to base, which immediately updates the system and also sends new jobs to the drivers.
This mobility accelerates the systems waste stream analysis and tonnage reporting functions as these details are transmitted instantly from the field to the office. In addition, the PDAs can be used to capture customer signatures and using a wireless mobile printer they can also produce receipts on site. The PDAs can also be used to scan barcode labels or RFID tags for total traceability of all types of waste.
The integrated Masternaut service also provides the added advantage of live fleet tracking so that fleet managers can see their vehicle movements in real time and this also helps with optimising the delivery and collection rounds. Not only are fleet managers able to monitor the time of arrival on a customer’s site, they are also able to see exactly when the vehicle left to go to the next job.
An excited Richard Bowers, Managing Director, ISYS Interactive Systems said, “By partnering with Masternaut Three X to develop the mobile front-end of this solution we have extended the service capability of Skipman, which enables waste collection companies to significantly boost their customer service levels. The Masternaut real-time communications and vehicle tracking adds a significant edge to our offering.”
