A2 Whitfield Roundabout resurfacing
There will be an overnight (8pm – 5am) closure of the inside lane of Whitfield Roundabout from Monday 1 December to Friday 5 December. There will be an overnight temporary speed limit of 40mph on approach to the roundabout for the duration of the works which are to lay high friction surfacing as well as relocate a number of road signs. ,The lane closure and temporary speed limit, will be fully signed in advance.
M20 Sign works
There will be 24/7 narrow running lanes on the Londonbound carriageway of the M20 from junction 6 to 5 and junction 8 to 7 from Monday 1 December to Friday 5 December. The works are to install signs at the side of the road. The narrow lanes will be fully signed in advance.
A20 Roundhill Tunnel Routine Maintenance
There will be a total overnight closure (8pm – 6am) of the coastbound side of the A20 Roundhill Tunnel on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 December for routine maintenance. The overnight closure will then be on the Londonbound side of the tunnel on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 December. During the closure a fully signed diversion route will be in place.
A259 Rye Cobbles
There will be a temporary daytime (9.30am – 4.30pm) westbound lane closure on the roundabout on the A259 at Rye at the junction with Wish Street from Monday 1 December to Friday 5 December. At these times there will be temporary three way traffic lights in operation. The works are to renew damaged cobbles and remove some redundant sign posts. The lane closure and temporary traffic lights will be fully signed in advance.
A26 South Heighton pavement works
There will be an overnight (7.30pm – 11.30pm) lane closure with temporary traffic lights on the A26 at its junction with The Hollow in South Heighton, East Sussex from Monday 1 December to Wednesday 3 December. The works are to undertake inspections on the pavement. The lane closure and temporary traffic lights will be fully signed in advance.
A259 King Offa Way additional works
There will be off peak (9.30am – 4pm) and occasional overnight (8.30pm – 6am) lane 1 closures or narrow lanes on both carriageways of the A259 and Dorset Road in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex from Monday 8 to Monday 15 December (Monday to Saturday only). The lane closures are to carryout additional works following a recent inspection. The lane closures will be fully signed in advance.
A259 Guestling Green
There will be an off peak (9.30am – 4pm) temporary lane closure with two way traffic lights on the westbound carriageway of the A259 at Guestling Green on Monday 8 December. The works are to remove two trees which are a potential safety risk for carriageway users. The lane closure and traffic lights will be fully signed in advance.
A21 Whatlington Emergency
There will be an off peak (9.30am – 4.30pm) lane one closure with two way traffic lights on the A21 near Hancox Farm in Whatlington, East Sussex on Tuesday 9 December. The works are to remove a tree which is a potential safety risk at the side of the road. The lane closure and traffic lights will be fully signed in advance.
A27 Falmer gulley repairs
There will be various overnight (8pm- 6am) lane closures with temporary traffic lights on the westbound carriageway at Falmer, East Sussex between Wednesday 3 and Saturday 6 December (Monday to Friday only). The works are to carry out repairs to the gulleys at the side of the road. The lane closures and traffic lights will be fully signed in advance.
A27 Housedean Farm to Ashcombe gulley repairs
There will be overnight (8pm- 6am) single lane closures on the A27 between Housedean Farm and Ashcombe, East Sussex from Friday 5 to Sunday 14 December (Monday to Friday only). The works are to carry out repairs to the gulley at the side of the road. The lane closures will be fully signed in advance.
A27 Middle Farm to Selmeston gulley repairs
There will be overnight (8pm – 6am) single lane closures with temporary traffic lights on the A27 between Middle Farm and Selmeston, from Monday 8 to Friday 12 December. The works are to carry out repairs to gully’s at the side of the road. The lane closure will be fully signed in advance.
A27 Old Shoreham Road drainage surveys
There will be overnight (8pm – 6am) single lane closures on the A27 one carriageway at a time from Manor Road Roundabout on Old Shoreham Road for 300 metres from Monday 8 December to Friday 12 December. The works are to carry out drainage surveys at the side of the road. The lane closures will be fully signed in advance.

A2 Bean to Cobham widening work
Work to widen the A2 to four lanes with hard shoulders in each direction between Bean and Cobham, in Kent, continues this week. The new Marling Cross junction has been opened and so has an additional lane, four in total, between Cobham and Marling Cross London bound.
On the coastbound carriageway three lanes remain open from the Ebbsfleet exit slip road to the Cobham exit slip road with various lane closures at night between 8pm and 5am.
A temporary 50mph speed restriction applies to both carriageways for safety reasons.
M2 Bridge Strengthening Work
Work to strengthen Ruins Barn Farm Bridge and Selling Road Bridge over the M2 at Sittingbourne and Faversham in Kent continues this week. To limit delays to road users, work will take place on both bridges at the same time, and will be completed in two phases.
.With the first phase complete, the second phase of the work started on Tuesday 11 November and will last for six weeks. Lane 2 on both sides of the road around each bridge will be closed to traffic, which will run on two narrow lanes in lane 1 and on the hard shoulder. For the safety of road users and road workers a fully signed 50mph speed limit will be in place around both bridges throughout the work site.
A2 Boughton Hill safety barrier repair works
Repair works on the A2 at Boughton Hill near Faversham in Kent started Saturday 8 November and are due to be completed by mid December. The works involve repairing the drainage system at the side of the road and upgrade the existing safety barrier to ensure the safety of all road users.
There will be narrow lanes in place for the duration of the works for a 1.1km section of the A2 along the Boughton Bypass. There will also be a 50mph speed restriction and an overnight lane one closure from 8pm to 6am Monday to Friday.
A23/A27 Patcham Interchange resurfacing works
Work to improve the A27 Patcham Interchange with the A23 near Brighton, West Sussex, started 03 November and is expected to be complete by 08 December.
The work, which will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am, involves localised widening of the road around the junction for the introduction of a dedicated left turn lane, with new road markings and updated signs. The carriageway will also be resurfaced with anti-skid material.
For the first three weeks, the A27 westbound exit slip road at Patcham Interchange will be closed overnight (Monday to Friday only). For the last two weeks of work there will be lane closures in place on the A23/A27 interchange. For the safety of road users and the workforce, the will be a temporary 50mph speed limit while work is taking place. All restrictions will be removed outside of working hours.
While the slip road is closed drivers will be directed to stay on the A27, and turn around at the next junction at Devil’s Dyke. They will then be able to use the eastbound exit at Patcham.
A259 Rye Drainage Surveys
Work to check the condition of drains on the A259 between its junctions with Harbour Road and Camber Road (both in Rye, East Sussex), started on Monday 10 November. Work will take place from Monday to Friday each night between 8pm and 5am.
Temporary lane closures will be in place along a 300 metre section of road each night, with temporary traffic lights in operation while work is carried out. All lane closures will be fully signed in advance.
