Citroen storms at BCA auction
Over 400 vehicles sold in one sale
Despite the difficult current trading conditions, Citroën UK achieved a record result in a special Live Online Closed Sale at British Car Auctions’ (BCA) Measham branch on 27th November.
In one of the biggest manufacturer sales ever staged by BCA, Citroën offered and sold 406 cars and commercial vehicles for a 100 per cent sell out success. The sale generated a turnover of £2.4 million, equivalent to just under 99 per cent of CAP Clean across the board.
The event was one of the largest closed sales ever staged by BCA, with 42 Citroën Approved dealers in the auction hall competing against a further 13 online bidders via BCA’s Live Online service. A total of 24 vehicles were sold online, equivalent to 6 per cent of the sale entry.
There was sustained demand for C4, with 115 models sold for an average of 99.7 per cent of CAP Clean, while C3 averaged an exceptional 107 per cent of CAP. Both C1 and C2 averaged well over CAP Clean, while C4 Picasso averaged nearly 97 per cent of CAP.
The sale featured a notable used-market debut for the Nemo LCV which averaged nearly 119 per cent of CAP Clean, selling for £5,550. Citroën’s commercial vehicles performed exceptionally well, with Berlingo averaging 109 per cent of CAP and Relay averaging 102 per cent of CAP.
Michael Brown, Head of Remarketing for Citroën UK commented “Yet again, Citroën and BCA have combined to buck the current tough market conditions to sell a record number of vehicles in a Citroën sale and achieve an excellent price performance. To sell over 400 vehicles in one sale on one day is exceptional, when the used market has been under such pressure.”
He added “This was the biggest single sale volume ever achieved by Citroën and BCA. The strong attendance and the confident bidding throughout the sale is testimony to the desirability of the range and demonstrates our dealer’s confidence and continuing success in selling used Citroens.”
BCA National Account Manager, Paul Dunn added “”This high profile event was one of the largest closed sales ever staged by BCA. The 100 per cent conversion underlines that Citroën is sending the right messages to the marketplace in these difficult conditions and reflects the value for money, versatility, green credentials and quality of the product range.”
