M25 Bell Common Tunnel (junctions 26 to 27)
Work to refurbish Bell Common Tunnel between junctions 26 and 27 of the M25 started on 24 October 2008, with expected completion in March 2010. There will be 3 narrow lanes in operation with a 50mph speed limit 24 hours a day. There will also be overnight additional lane closures, and the hard shoulder will be closed. A free recovery service will be in place.
A316 Country Way
Transport for London are carrying out safety improvement works and bridge works on the A316 Country Way between the M3 junction 1 (Sunbury Cross) and Apex Corner viaduct, which started on Monday 19 May 2008. The highway element of the scheme is due for completion at the end of the year, with overall completion due in spring 2009.
Every effort will be made to keep delays to the minimum, and there will be at least two lanes open in both directions for traffic between the hours of 6.00am and 8.30pm. There will also be some night time working, but there will always be one lane open in each direction.
M1 J6a to 8
Widening works started here in March 2006, scheduled for completion in Spring 2009. There will be various off peak lane closures, narrow lane running and a 50mph speed limit. There will also be overnight signed diversions on occasions. A free recovery service is provided, and drivers are asked in the event of a breakdown to remain with their vehicles and await the arrival of the recovery vehicle.
