New Jaama seminars to focus on saving fleets money

Recession means that every organisation is focusing on , and with vehicles being one of the most costly areas of operation for most businesses, the focus on issues from boards of directors is significant.

As a result fleet managers should be conducting a root and branch review of their entire operation, while simultaneously ensuring that vehicle use is in line with best practice requirements and meets optimum business efficiency.

For administrators and managers who have the responsibility but not necessarily the experience or specialist knowledge of running a fleet of vehicles, today’s requirements can be daunting.

It is for that reason that fleet management experts at Jaama are holding more of their Fleet Management Essentials seminars. The seminars hosted by the fleet management software and occupational road safety specialist, are also applicable for fleet professionals who require an update on new legislation, a refresher on best practice and new developments and a crash course in effective cost management associated with managing a vehicle fleet.

One-day Fleet Managements Essentials seminars will be held on: Thursday, February 26 in Reading; Tuesday, March 3 in Honiley, Warwick; Thursday, March 26 in Barnsley; Thursday, April 23 in Swindon; Tuesday, May 12 in Leeds/Brighouse; Tuesday, May 19 in Telford; Thursday, May 21 in Brentwood; and Thursday June 11 in Slough.
Issues covered in the seminars, which also attract administrators and managers responsible for overseeing employees who use their own cars on business, include: identifying and managing the costs associated with running vehicles, identifying the most appropriate funding methods, identifying and reporting key performance indicators, choosing and managing suppliers, the impact of taxation, environmental and duty of care issues on fleet operations and drivers as well as a special section on understanding the impact of April’s changes in corporation tax rules on fleet operations.

managing director Jason Francis said: “Our entire workshop programme has proved very popular in the last three years, particularly with employees who combine fleet responsibility for cars and commercial vehicles with another role in their organisation and those who are new to vehicle management.

“The whole area of fleet management can be daunting, especially if you are new to the role or have ‘acquired’ the day-to-day running of the fleet as part of your responsibilities. In addition, we recognise and appreciate that operators of smaller or employee-owned fleets do not always have the luxury of a full time dedicated fleet manager and often new legislation and best practices can be missed.”

As well as gathering an array of practical information, delegates will take away documents that they can adapt to meet their own individual fleet requirements including fleet policies and driver handbooks and risk management templates and guidance.

It costs £375 (+ VAT) per delegate to attend a , however regular promotions are run against these prices. For further details contact Jaama on 0844 8484 333.
