Arval Report Fuel Savings For Customers

Arval, the leading European fleet and fuel management company, launched their Capped Price Diesel product in October 2008, aimed mainly at high fuel volume fleets of vans and HGV’s, which let companies put a cap on rising diesel prices allowing them to keep within their allotted budgets and efficiently manage their costs. New figures now available show that those companies that signed up to the scheme will have made significant savings with companies who opted into the Arval Capped Price Diesel product in March 2009 realising a cost saving of over 5 pence per litre for the last 3 months.

This 5 pence per litre saving is inclusive of the up front fee customers pay at the beginning of the agreed minimum twelve week period, demonstrating that customers can save money as well as benefiting from greater stability and the ability to set their fuel budgets. They can also use it as a back up plan, signing up to the scheme without any cost commitment, so if prices start to become unpredictable they can opt in and cap their diesel expenditure. Arval is the only fuel card provider to offer this capped price facility.

Arval operate the service through a leading commercial vehicle diesel network of over 1,350 sites. Diesel purchased through this network is often cheaper than the national average pump price because prices are calculated based on the current commercial diesel market (Platts) and then fixed for the week.

Danny Clenaghan, Card Development Director at Arval comments: “Because of our understanding of the fuel market we have been able to develop an innovative new solution to managing fuel costs. We appreciate the pressure that volatile fuel prices put on fleets and designed this product to deliver certainty while still providing flexibility.”
