1link Users Reach In Excess Of 13,000 In Bid To Beat Recession

epyx, specialists in providing IT solutions for the automotive sector, has seen the number of franchise dealers, independent garages and fast-fits using 1link e-commerce platforms jump past the 13,000 mark.

1link products cover vehicle acquisition, relicensing, service and maintenance, disposal and short term hire and with the need to maximise sales and minimise costs, an increasing number of franchise dealers, independent garages and fast-fits to the fleet industry have signed up to use 1link platforms during the last 12 months.

Ken Trinder Ken Trinder, head of business development at epyx said: “The last year seen an increasing interest from dealers looking for new ways to maintain profitability as the recession has bitten deep and e-commerce is one of the solutions they are adopting.

“What this has meant on the ground is that we have signed up more users and that all our dealers are becoming more open to the idea of taking on additional e-commerce platforms, and we are experiencing a rapid take up of 1link Disposal Network as dealer appetite for buying used car stock efficiently increases.”

Trinder said that he expected the trend to continue as tough conditions in the motor industry prompted dealers and fleets to look for new ways to maximise sales and minimise costs.

He explained: “The fundamental benefits of e-commerce make a lot of sense in a recessionary – our platforms provide the means to reach a much wider pool of potential buyers than through any other route and business can be transacted at a very low cost.

“These principles apply to all the areas in which dealers operate – from new and used car sales to the aftermarket.”
