Manheim Key To De-Fleet Success For Arval

Manheim, the world’s largest automotive services company, has shown its comprehensive remarketing proposition, which includes several value-added services, offers unrivalled support to its vendors, including a ‘key-for-key’ facility. One of its prominent customers to benefit from ’s experience is Arval who has seen, over a period of four weeks more than 200 of its vans, operated by Thales maintainer of 95% of Network Rail’s telecommunications infrastructure, driven to their nearest Manheim Auction centre where representatives met with the Thales drivers and coordinated the handover of their new 09 plate vans. The de-fleeted vans, mainly Renault Kangoo SL19 1.5DCI , then had trade name decals removed, were valeted, marketed and entered for sale within ’s branded van auction programme.

Alex Wright, Sales Director, Commercial Vehicles, Manheim Auctions said: “The key-for-key service underlines the confidence our vendors place in Manheim Auctions because it sees us directly involved in their own client relationships. The strategic location of our dedicated commercial vehicle auction centres offers vendors and buyers a truly national network. For vendors this delivers operational advantages and efficiencies – such as ‘key-for-key’. Even in a strong market with such significant volumes of similarly specified vans we would always recommend managing them strategically into the marketplace. Spreading volume geographically is the ideal as it ensures auction values and days in stock are not impacted negatively through over supply. The nature of this particular project addressed this issue from the outset and also eliminated any onward movements and associated costs. Vans are effectively delivered straight into the selling centre by the driver for immediate defleet and sale.”

Manheim Auction centres can be found at Colchester, Glasgow, Gloucester, Haydock and Leeds.
