A46/M6 Junction 2 Improvement Works: Monday 10th August 2009 to Monday 17th August 2009
The scheme is located on the M6 at Junctions 2, on the outskirts of Coventry. To summarise briefly the scheme is to widen the M6 Island and the approach roads, install new traffic signals, improve the street lighting and construct a footway/cycleway. Work commenced on 3rd March 2009 and is currently programmed for completion in April 2010.
The majority of the work will be carried out in the daytime but occasionally there will be the need to work nights and weekends. There are a number of restrictions in place to keep our operatives and the general public safe while the works are carried out. These restrictions include an enforced 24 hour speed limit of 40mph around the works and the surrounding area. Occasional overnight closures of the M6, B4065, A46, A4600 and some slip roads will also be required. Closures will be notified well in advance and diversion routes will be clearly signed.

Day and night works – 20.00 to 06.00
At this location there will be an inner ring closure for widening works. Note that a 40mph mandatory speed limit will be in place.
