This Turbo Edition 9-3’s 1,910cc, 16-valve TTiD EcoPower engine employs a sophisticated twin turbo system – a small turbo for low revs, a bigger one for higher rpm. It produces a useful 178bhp along with a hearty 295lb/ft of torque and on the road this translates to generous and accessible performance under almost all circumstances. Throttle response is quick – there’s no turbo lag here – and the engine is both quiet and refined. With a 6-speed manual transmission (a 6-sp auto is an option) 0-62mph can be achieved in 8 seconds dead along with that more than ample 140mph top speed.
