Online Poll Backs Road Safety Minister’s Tough Stance

, the car supermarket giant, have recently conducted an online poll regarding new Government proposals to destroy uninsured vehicles as outlined by Road Safety Minister Paul Clark. The survey, undertaken by a total of 1,932 people, returned a resounding 89.7% approval rating of the measures, which would see motorists facing a fine or even the possibility of their vehicle being destroyed if they continue to fail to insure it, rather than only facing a penalty when caught driving without insurance.

Says David Shelton, Managing Director of Motorpoint: “While destroying a vehicle is may be a bit too harsh, it is clear from our poll that the vast majority of people want something to be done to stop them having to foot the bill for uninsured drivers.”

Motorpoint offers free, comprehensive seven day drive away insurance cover with to every customer who buys a car from one of its five sites throughout the UK.
