DNA Box Launched By Trimble MRM
Trimble MRM, the leading provider of Mobile Resource Management solutions, has created GPS tracking and fleet performance monitoring in one box.
Known as the Driver DNA box or TVG 660 device, the unit is able to provide cutting edge technology by way of real-time information on driver behaviour, vehicle condition, fuel and mpg efficiency, and CO2 emissions, whilst still catering for traditional MRM requirements such as GPS data on vehicle position and activity; giving a true 360 degree view of a fleet’s usage and performance.
The Driver DNA box solves the issue many companies have of running multi-vehicle fleets and wanting to implement GPS tracking and vehicle diagnostics and allows them to use the data the device provides to analyse and compare performance to gain an understanding of where action needs to be taken. The box is also able to work across all vehicle makes that may be employed in a fleet, from HGVs to vans and cars.
In addition to its one-box-fits-all advantage, the Driver DNA box, when trialled proved successful in reducing fuel costs by up to 15%, vehicle maintenance by 15% and boosting driver compliance by 18%
“We are extremely pleased with the success of Driver DNA in tests,” says Andrew Yeoman, MD of Trimble EMEA. “We’ve shown that the information that is produced will help to eliminate missed customer appointments and deliveries because of poor vehicle performance and downtime due to breakdowns.”
“In the current economic climate, where keeping costs down is crucial, it provides a win-win outcome; increased efficiency at a lower cost.”
