Junction 16 Crewe (resurfacing) – closure of the northbound access slip road overnight for resurfacing, between 22.00 and 05.00 from Monday 26th October until Thursday 29th October.

Junction 1 Worsley (sign installation) – closure of the northbound access slip road from the A580 overnight between 21.00 and 05.00 from Monday 26th October to Saturday 31st October for signage installation.

Junction 1 to Junction 3 Eccles Interchange to Regent Road (safety system installation) – various lane closures, including some total closures, in both directions for the installation of the MIDAS traffic safety system, including insertion of cables in the carriageway and installation of electronic signs. Work begins on Monday 12th October and continues until the end of March 2010.

Junction 9 to Junction 16 Lymm to Ellesmere Port (safety system installation) – various lane closures in both directions for the installation of the MIDAS traffic safety system, including insertion of cables in the carriageway and installation of electronic signs. Work begins on Monday 19th October and continues until April 2010.

Junction 21a Croft (resurfacing) – closure of the northbound link road to the M62 westbound overnight for resurfacing, between 22.00 and 05.00. Work continues until mid-October.

A663 Chadderton (resurfacing) – closure of the dedicated left and right turns in both directions between the M60 and Nimble Nook overnight between 22.00 and 05.00 for resurfacing. Work continues until late October.

Junction 22 to Junction 23 Newton-le-Willows to Haydock (bridge improvements) – narrow lanes and contraflow in both directions, plus various off-peak lane closures, with 50mph speed limit enforced by cameras for repairs and improvements to bridges. Work continues until January 2010.

Junction 22 to Junction 21 Rakewood Viaduct (bridge improvements) – hard shoulder closure in both directions and contraflow system in use 24 hours a day plus some overnight lane closures for bridge repairs and improvements. Work continues until the end of November.
A55
A55 Vicars Cross to River Dee (resurfacing) – various lane closures in both directions overnight for resurfacing, from 21.00 to 05.00. Work continues until December.

Junction 7 to Junction 8 Ellesmere Post (bridge improvements) – various lane closures and speed restrictions in both directions overnight for the refurbishment of two railway bridges, plus installation of new safety barriers and lighting. Work continues until December.
