FBP’s On Line Benchmarking system expands

Following a successful launch, the Freight Best Practice programme’s On Line Benchmarking (OLB) system expanded its range of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to cover CO2 emissions and an increased focus on Safety. A CO2 KPI has been added, which will allow operators to measure and compare the volume of CO2 that each of their vehicles emit, which could be invaluable when proving environmental credentials to help win work.

Safety KPIs have also be enhanced to allow operators to not only measure the total number of incidents, but also the types of incidents according to 4 main categories: Fatal, Serious Injury, Slight Injury and Damage Only.  The introduction of the new KPIs will bring the total suite of KPIs offered by OLB to 13.

Scott Hardy, OLB Project Manager said ‘The continued development of OLB across a greater range of KPIs is intended to allow transport operators even more opportunities to externally benchmark their operational performance with operators of similar vehicles in similar sectors.

OLB is intending to develop further into other areas for KPI measurement, and feedback from users is crucial in helping to shape the future direction of OLB.’
