Essential Road Maintenance on A1, Near Ranby, Nottinghamshire
The Highways Agency is to carry out essential maintenance on the A1 southbound at Apleyhead, near Ranby, Nottinghamshire from Monday 16 November to Saturday 21 November.
The work, which includes resurfacing and white lining will involve a total closure of the southbound carriageway for a 1.2km stretch between the A1 Ranby slip road and the new Apleyhead junction.
To minimise disruption to road users, work will only take place between the hours of 8pm and 6am when traffic is lightest.
A diversion route will be clearly signposted for the duration of the work:
All southbound traffic will be diverted onto the A620 at the A1/A620 exit slip road and travel towards Retford. Traffic will then head south along the A638 towards the new Markham Moor junction, where it will be able to rejoin the A1.
Highways Agency project manager Mark Braithwaite said:
“We are carrying out this essential road renewal work at night when traffic is lightest to minimise delay to road users. Due to the road closure and associated diversion route, drivers should plan their journeys and allow extra time to reach their destinations.”
