TRACKER Finds Stolen Milk Float in the Midlands
Thieves in the West Midlands seemed intent on depriving locals of their daily pint of milk when they stole a Ford Transit milk float. Thanks to the advanced Very High Frequency (VHF) technology used by TRACKER, West Mercia Constabulary picked up a signal from the stolen vehicle tracking unit which led to its recovery along with three other vehicles.
The signal was tracked by officers on the ground and a police helicopter, to isolated buildings in the Bridgenorth area of Shropshire. Police recovered the stolen milk float along with two other stolen vans and plant machinery. Two people were arrested at the scene.
Adrian Davenport, TRACKER Police Liaison Manager for the area says; “It takes a lot of bottle to steal a milk float but thankfully there was no milk onboard. The recovery of the milk float, along with three other vehicles was a good haul worth thousands of pounds. TRACKER is the only stolen vehicle recovery provider working with all 52 police forces in the UK and this recovery with West Midlands Police certainly paid off.”
PC Angus Nairn from West Mercia Constabulary, confirms, “It is very unlikely we would have found all four vehicles if the milk float wasn’t fitted with a tracking device. We certainly recovered them just in time, as one of the stolen vans had already been dissembled for disposal. It is a great recovery and now we can return these vehicles to the rightful owners.”
