Weekly Summary of Roadworks for M25 – 18/11/2009

A traffic management summary for both new and ongoing work

All dates and times subject to weather conditions

Widening

M25 Junction 17 exit and entry slip roads

Both the clockwise exit and entry slip roads  at junction 17  will be closed overnight for 5 nights from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Saturday 14 November  09 until Thursday 19 November 09 for reconstruction works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Junction 18 entry slip road

The anti clockwise entry slip roads at junction 18  will be closed overnight for 5 nights from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Saturday 14 November  09 until Thursday 19 November 09 for reconstruction works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Junction 18

The anti clockwise carriageway will be closed overnight from 11.00pm to 05.30am from Friday 20 November 09 until Saturday 21 November 09 for reconstruction works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Junction 27-30

Work to widen M25 between junctions 27 and 28 to four lanes is taking place, with three narrow lanes in each direction available during busy times, with off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed limit is in place. A free recovery service is available.

M25 Other work

M25 Junction 2

The anti clockwise carriageway at junction 2 will be closed overnight from 10.00 pm to 23.59pm on Tuesday 17 November 09 for electrical works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Junction 3

The clockwise link road leading to the M20 eastbound will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 01.00am from Wednesday 18 November 09 until Thursday 19 November 09 for electrical works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Junction 12

The anti clockwise link road leading to the M3 in both directions will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Monday 23 November 09 until Tuesday 24 November 09 for sign maintenance works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M25 Bell Common Tunnel (Junctions 26 to 27)

Work to refurbish Bell Common Tunnel between junctions 26 and 27 of the M25 started in October 2008, and is expected to be complete in March 2010. There are 3 narrow lanes in operation with a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day. There will also be overnight additional lane closures, and hard shoulder closures. A free recovery service is in place.

M25 Junction 31

The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight from 10.30pm to 05.00am from Saturday 28 November 09 until Sunday 29 November 09 for structure maintenance works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

Other Roads

A 282 junction 2 northbound

The northbound carriageway will closed overnight from 01.00am to 02.00am on Wednesday 18 November 09 for electrical works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

A 282 junction 2 southbound

The  southbound link road to the A2 eastbound will closed overnight from 02.00am  to 04.00am on Wednesday 18 November 09 for electrical works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

A 282 junction 1B northbound

The  northbound entry slip road will closed overnight for 5 nights from 10.00pm  to 05.00am from Monday 23 November 09 until Friday 27 November 09 and from 11.00pm until 05.00am from Friday 27 November 09 until Saturday 28 November 09 installation of signing. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M20 Junction 1 westbound

The westbound link road to the A282 northbound will be closed overnight from 01.00am to 04.00 am on Thursday 19 November 09 for electrical works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

M4 Junction 1 to junction 3

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight for from 09.00pm to 06.00am for 7 nights from Saturday 28 November 09 until Friday 04 December 09 for maintenance works. A diversion will be fully signposted.

A1 (M) Hatfield Tunnel

Ongoing, work to refurbish the A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel continues this week. The second phase of the two-year refurbishment started in July. During this stage, which is expected to be completed in May 2010, the northbound tunnel will be closed and a two lane contra-flow with narrow lanes with a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day will operate on the southbound carriageway. Drivers should expect moderate delays during this phase. A free recovery service is available.
A3/A309 Hook Interchange

Ongoing major maintenance work on the A3 Esher Bypass between Clayton Bridge and the TfL boundary near Hook Interchange continues this week with completion due December 2009. There will be 24 hour working, with off peak lane closures and some overnight carriageway and slip road closures. There will be a temporary 40mph speed limit in force throughout the work. Slight delays are expected
