Highways Agency awards £250 million framework for maintenance and improvement schemes
A new framework contract worth up to £250 million for major maintenance and improvement schemes on motorways and trunk roads in the Midlands has been awarded by the Highways Agency.
Midlands Framework 4, which covers structural, resurfacing and maintenance works, has been awarded to assist with the accelerated delivery of some essential maintenance schemes as part of the Government’s Fiscal Stimulus package.
The four suppliers on the framework are: Balfour Beatty, Tarmac, Lafarge/Costain and Geoffrey Osborne/Aggregate Industries.
The contract is for work commissioned over a one year period and builds on the success of Midlands Framework 3 which was awarded in November 2007.
