This years Children In Need appeal was almost £2,000 better off thanks to the efforts of the kind-hearted staff at Inchcape Fleet Solutions. Staff took part in numerous money raising activities including the company’s board of directors cooking up a BBQ breakfast and lunch for all employees and nearby businesses and a balloon race, which saw one balloon travelling hundreds of miles.
Martin Matthews, who works in the company’s Accident Services department released a balloon, which participating staff paid a donation to do so, that was recovered around 400 miles away by a family in the north east Friesland province of the Netherlands. In an email to Inchcape Fleet Solutions from the family, they wrote: “We were very surprised about the far distance this balloon went in one day. We wish you good luck with your action for the children.”
In total there were almost a dozen fundraising activities included arm-wrestling, fancy dress, beauty treatments, bingo, a cake stall and a staff quiz.
Inchcape Fleet Solutions’ managing director Terry Bartlett said: “At Inchcape Fleet Solutions we have a tradition of raising money for charity and Children In Need is undoubtedly a fantastic cause. Giving employees the chance to let their hair down and have some fun is a good way to reward them for their commitment and dedication this year and in the process raise money for children who need help and support.”
