Final resurfacing works take place on A1
Essential surfacing and maintenance works to prolong the life of the A1 between Dishforth (Junction 49) and Scotch Corner will take place this weekend.
The work includes resurfacing and patching the carriageway and renewing road studs and white lines. This work is essential to keep this section of the A1 in a safe condition until works to upgrade this stretch of the A1 have been completed. This work was due to take place over the last two weekends however, due to unforeseen weather conditions it had to be rescheduled.
Work will start on the evening of Friday 11 December and will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am. It will be necessary to close the southbound carriageway between Catterick and Leeming Bar. Traffic wishing to travel southbound will be diverted via A689/A19/A168. A local diversion via the A1/A66 will join the main diversion at the A19.
Work will take place on Saturday 12 December between 8pm and 6am and it will be necessary to close the southbound carriageway between Leeming Bar and Dishforth. Traffic wishing to travel southbound will be diverted via A689/A19/A168. A local diversion via the A684/A168/A19 will also be in place.
