Online Key2 Amey’s Choice For Fleet Management
Jaama, the fleet software and occupational road safety specialist, has been selected by leading public services provider Amey, who wanted one web-enabled system to manage its entire fleet of 4,500 vehicles. Their chosen online system also needed to be able to manage its 30,000 items of plant equipment and workshops as well as integrated with existing software used by finance and HR departments, something that the sophisticated Key2 internet-based software is easily able to do.
“Key2 is the only system in the market that has the capability of meeting Amey’s requirements” said Jason Francis, managing director of Jaama, which has now embarked on an eight-month implementation programme with a ‘go live’ date of April 1, 2010.
Currently Amey has separate non web-enabled computer systems to manage its vehicle fleet and its plant with workshop feeds into both making administratively complex and time consuming and does not allow for multiple user access across different sites.
Steve Helliwell, managing director of the Logistics Business Division at Amey, said: “We chose the Jaama system after a rigorous six-month procurement and evaluation process. The process actively engaged our operational fleet team to ensure all our requirements were met. This included presentations from seven potential providers before a short-list was developed and the front-runners scored on the functionality of their individual systems.
“Jaama was able to successfully demonstrate to all stakeholders an effective fleet management system for managing quotations, hire and rehire, legislative compliance, the operation of plant and workshops including maintenance and accident reporting.
“The system we have chosen is also able to interface with our other business systems allowing future integration and reduced administration across a number of departments.”
Mr Francis added: “Providing Amey with its new vehicle, plant and workshop management system is a significant contract for Jaama.
“Amey has shown huge faith in the functionality of our system to be able to deliver a wide range of benefits that will further improve operational efficiencies and ensure compliance with a wide-range of legislation that impacts on its business.
“Key2’s functionality will give Amey increased visibility of its entire fleet, plant and workshop operations. Being a secure online system, Key2 offers, multiple user access which aids both cost management and operational efficiencies as well as fleet, plant and workshop administration
Amey, part of the Ferrovial Group, employs 11,000 people in the UK and works in partnership with customers across the aviation, central government, defence, education, local government, rail and strategic highways sectors.
