Pre-Budget electric tax incentives ‘unusable’
The Chancellor’s announcement in the Pre-Budget Report for tax incentives for electric cars and vans has been criticised by leading fleet industry website, FleetDirectory.co.uk.
The website which provides news, reviews and contacts for fleet managers and company car drivers, has expressed its dismay at what it labels ‘unusable’ tax incentives.
Speaking on behalf of the website, Marketing Manager, Richard Lawton said: “We feel that this announcement of tax incentives for company electric cars and vans is nothing more than an easier headline grabber by the Chancellor. If the Government were serious about reducing CO2 emissions among company car drivers then these tax incentives would be available on the most fuel efficient cars available now, not electric cars that are at least 12 months away from hitting the road. Additionally, this incentive fails to acknowledge the severe lack of recharge infrastructure outside of central London.”
