Overnight closures on A38/A516 near Mickleover, Derby as part of resurfacing improvements
A series of overnight closures will be taking place on the A38/A516 near Derby as part of a Highways Agency roads scheme.
The closures will take place on the southbound exit slip road, between A38 and A516 at the Toyota interchange from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 January between 8pm and 6am each night.
The scheme involves the resurfacing of the A38/A516 southbound exit slip road and the replacement of the associated road markings and road studs. The existing bridge joints on the A516 Brookfield Farm over bridge are to be repaired as part of the resurfacing scheme.
Highways Agency project manager Mark Braithwaite said:
”The closures are being carried out overnight, when traffic flows are at their lightest. This minimizes disruption to the travelling public and helps keep traffic flowing during the day.
“Work on the scheme is necessary to improve the road surface for all road users and we ask that drivers understand the need for this work to be carried out.”
While the slip road is closed Traffic will be diverted onto the A50 westbound carriageway at the Toyota interchange. Traffic will continue along the A50, and take the exit slip road towards the A516 where the diversion will end.
