Roadworks information for Highways Agency roads in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire – 7 days beginning Monday 1st March 2010

NEW SCHEMES

A56

Bent Gate to Hud Hey (resurfacing) – overnight closure of the northbound A56 from 21.00 to 05.00.  Work continues until Friday 5th March. There will be a clearly signed diversion along the A680 through Haslingden.

M62

Junction 10 to Junction 9 Croft to Winwick (resurfacing) – closure on slip roads and hardshoulder running westbound overnight from 22.00 to 05.00 from Monday 8th March to the end of March for resurfacing.

M60

Junction 18 to Junction 19 Prestwich to Heaton Park Total (resurfacing) – various overnight lane closures in both directions including slip roads from 22.00 to 05.00 for resurfacing. Work starts on Monday 1st March and continues until the end of the month.

Junction 12 Eccles (routine maintenance) – overnight closure of the clockwise access slip road from 22.00 to 05.00 between Monday 1st March and Saturday 6th March for routine maintenance.

ONGOING SCHEMES

M65

Junction 8 Huncoat (resurfacing) – closure of the exit slip roads in both directions overnight from 22.00 to 05.00 for resurfacing. Work continues until the end of March.

Junction 6 to Junction 8 Knuzden Brook to Huncoat (resurfacing and bridge works) – lane closures overnight between 22.00 and 05.00 for carriageway resurfacing and barrier replacement, plus weekend lane closures for bridge deck re-waterproofing.  Work continues until mid-April.

M602

Junction 1 to Junction 3, Eccles Interchange to Regent Road (safety system installation) – various lane closures, including some total closures, in both directions for the installation of the MIDAS traffic safety system, including insertion of cables in the carriageway and installation of electronic signs. Work continues until the end of April 2010.

M56

Junction 9 to Junction 16, Lymm to Ellesmere Port (safety system installation) – various lane closures in both directions for the installation of the MIDAS traffic safety system, including insertion of cables in the carriageway and installation of electronic signs. Work continues until the end of March.
