Weekend Closures as A2 Resurfacing Work Completed

Resurfacing work on a busy section of the near Ebbsfleet in Kent will be completed this weekend.

The work, to resurface and re-waterproof the A2 Park Corner Bridge, is the last of three phases of work that began in September last year.

The London-bound exit slip road for Ebbsfleet will be closed from 9pm this Friday (5 March) until 6am on Monday 8 March, and some lanes will be closed on the London-bound carriageway. Two lanes will remain open past the work on the A2, and a fully signed diversion route will be in place for road users affected by the slip road closure.

Highways Agency project manager Bala Vishnubala said:

“This work is part of the Highways Agency’s commitment to help road users make their journeys safely and reliably and will reduce the risk of unplanned maintenance being needed in the future. By carrying out the work at the weekend we hope to limit any delays, although drivers should allow extra time for their journeys if they are planning to use the A2 this weekend.”

Suitable weather conditions are essential for the work to be completed successfully. In the event of poor weather, the work will be carried over to a future weekend.
