Weekly Summary of Roadworks for M25 – 04/03/2010

M25 Widening
M25 Junction 18
The anti clockwise exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Monday 1 March 2010 until Friday 05 March 2010 for new structures / reconstruction work. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.
M25 Junction 16 to Junction 18
Ongoing work to widen this section of the M25 to four lanes in each direction continues this week. Three narrow lanes in each direction will be available during busy times, with off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed restriction is in place between junctions 16 and 18 that will operate 24 hours a day until May 2010. A free recovery service is available
M25 Junction 27
The anti clockwise link road leading to the M11 northbound will be closed overnight for 5 nights from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Monday 01 March 2010 until Friday 05 March 2010 and from 11.00pm until 05.30am from Friday 05 March 2010 until Saturday 06 March 2010 for structures new/reconstruction work. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
M25 Junction 27 to Junction 30
Ongoing work to widen M25 between junctions 27 and 28 to four lanes is taking place, with three narrow lanes in each direction available during busy times, with off peak lane closures as required, mostly overnight. A 50mph speed limit is in place. A free recovery service is available.
M40 junction 1A / M25 Junction 16
Both link roads leading to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight for 3 nights from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Wednesday 03 March 2010 until Friday 05 March 2010 and from 11.00pm until 05.30am from Friday 05 March 2010 until Saturday 06 March 2010 for new structures / reconstruction work. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
M25 Other works
M25 Junction 31
The clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Saturday 13 March 2010 until Sunday 14 March 2010 for bridge maintenance works. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.
M25 Junction 15
Both the clockwise and anti clockwise link roads leading to the M4 westbound will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Monday 08 March 2010 until Tuesday 09 March 2010 for white lining/road marking work. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.
M25 Junction 12
The clockwise link roads leading to the M3 in both directions will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Thursday 11 March 2010 until Friday 12 March 2010 for litter clearance works. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.
M25 Junction 9
The anti clockwise entry slip road will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Thursday 04 March 2010 until Friday 05 March 2010 for litter clearance works. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.

*QEII Bridge will be closed and Southbound A282 traffic will be diverted through East tunnel. The Southbound J31 entry slip will be closed to traffic for the Bridge closure. The diversion will be in place for J31 entry slip traffic.
Other motorways/trunk roads
A1(M) Junction 3 to Junction 4 Hatfield Tunnel
Both bores of the Hatfield Tunnel will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Thursday 04 March 2010 until Friday 05 March 2010 for tunnel maintenance work. A diversion route will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.
A23 Church Lane to Dean Lane
The northbound carriageway of the A23 between Dean Lane and Church Lane will be closed overnight for twelve nights from 9.00pm to 05.00am from Monday 1 March 2010 until Saturday 13 March 2010 for carriageway reconstruction and repair. Two way traffic lights will be in operation, and moderate delays are expected. The Church Lane exit to the A23 will be closed, and traffic will be diverted via Church Lane Avenue to exit at Star Lane.
A23 Church Lane to Dean Lane
The southbound carriageway of the A23 between Church Lane and Dean Lane will be closed overnight for twelve nights from 9.00pm to 05.00am from Saturday 13 March 2010 until Monday 12 April 2010 for carriageway reconstruction and repair. Two way traffic lights will be in operation, and moderate delays are expected. The Church Lane exit to the A23 will be closed, and traffic will be diverted via Church Lane Avenue to exit at Star Lane.
A40 Junction 1
The westbound exit slip road at Junction 1 will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Monday 1 March 2010 until Friday 30 April 2010 (working weekends). A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected.
M26 Junction 2A
The eastbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Monday 08 March 2010 until Tuesday 09 March 2010 for litter clearance. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
M26 Junction 2A
The westbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Tuesday 09 March 2010 until Wednesday 10 March 2010 for litter clearance. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
M4 junction 4, 4b and 5
There will be various overnight lane and slip road closures at M4 junctions 4, 4b and 5 starting on Monday 01 March 2010 and completing on Wednesday 31 March 2010 during improvement works to the eastbound entry slip roads to the M25 from the M4 junction at 4b. Advance warning signs will be in place before works start to alert drivers to the closures. Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place, and details of these closures will be included in this weekly roundup as the scheme progresses. The first of these follows:-
M4 junction 4b
The westbound link roads leading to the M25 in both directions will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Thursday 04 March 2010 until Friday 05 March 2010 for white lining/road markings. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
M4 junction 5
The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Wednesday 10 March 2010 until Thursday 11 March 2010 for white lining/road markings. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
M20 Junction 2
The westbound entry slip road at Junction 2 will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 05.00am from Thursday 4 March 2010 until Friday 5 March 2010 for drainage work. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
M3 Junction 12
The westbound link roads leading to the M25 clockwise and anti clockwise will be closed overnight from 11.00pm to 05.00am from Friday 12 March 2010 until Saturday 13 March 2010 for litter clearance. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
A3 Wisley to Ockham
The southbound lay by between Wisely and Ockham will be closed overnight for 4 nights from 10.00pm to 05.30am from Monday 08 March 2010 until Friday 12 March 2010 for communications work. A diversion will be fully signposted. Moderate delays are expected
A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel
Ongoing work to refurbish the A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel continues this week. The second phase of the two-year refurbishment started in July. During this stage, which is due for completion in May 2010, the northbound tunnel will be closed and a two lane contraflow, with narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit 24 hours a day will operate in the southbound carriageway. Drivers should expect moderate delays during this phase. A free recovery service is in place.
