West Midlands motorway and trunk road maintenance programme 22-28 March 2010
A38 Swinfen Island to Weeford Island
The southbound carriageway of the A38, near Swinfen Hall, will be closed each night from Monday 22 March to Saturday 27 March from 21.00pm to 6.00am for the provision of high-friction surfacing, new signage and road markings near the Barkers Lane junction. A temporary sped limit will be in operation and a diversion route be clearly signposted.
M54 Junction 1 (Featherstone) to M6 Junction 10a (M54 / M6 Interchange)
The eastbound M54 between junction 1 and the M6 at junction 10a (including M54 junction 1 entry slip road) will be closed overnight from 8.00pm on Saturday 27 March to 10.00am on Sunday 28 March 2010 for the installation of a new gantry as part of the Birmingham Box Managed Motorways scheme. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 Junction 15 (Stoke-on-Trent South) to Junction 16 (Stoke-on- Trent North)
The northbound M6 will be closed each night from 10.00pm to 6.00am from Wednesday 24 March 2010 to Friday 26 March for the installation of traffic sensors as part of hard shoulder strengthening. This will include the entry slip road at junction 15. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 Junction 14 (Stafford North) to Junction 13 (Stafford South)
The southbound M6 between junction 14 and junction 13 will be closed overnight from 8.00pm on Friday 26 March to 6.00am on Saturday 27 March for the removal of narrow lanes as part of hard shoulder strengthening. This will include the entry slip road at junction 13. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 Junction 14 (Stafford North) to Junction 15 (Stoke-on-Trent South)
The northbound M6 will be closed each night from 10.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 22 March 2010 to Wednesday 24 March 2010 for the installation of traffic sensors as part of hard shoulder strengthening. This will include the entry slip road at junction 14. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 Junction 13 (Stafford South) to Junction 14 (Stafford North)
The northbound M6 between junction 13 and junction 14 will be closed overnight from 8.00pm on Saturday 27 March to 6.00am on Sunday 28 March for the removal of narrow lanes as part of hard shoulder strengthening. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 Junction 11 (Cannock) to Junction 7 (Great Barr)
The southbound carriageway of the M6 between junction 11 and junction 7 (including all link and slip roads) will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 8.00am from Friday 26 March to Saturday 27 March 2010 for the installation of new gantries as part of Birmingham Box Managed Motorways scheme. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

The link road from the M5 northbound to the northbound M6 at junction 8 will be closed overnight from 8.00pm on Saturday 27 March to 10.00am on Sunday 28 March for the installation of new gantries as part of Birmingham Box Managed Motorways scheme. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 Junction 8 (Ray Hall M6 / M5 Interchange) to Junction 10 (Willenhall)
The northbound M6 between junctions 8 and 10 (including all link and slip roads) will be closed overnight from 8.00pm on Saturday 27 March to 10.00am on Sunday 28 March for the installation of new gantries as part of Birmingham Box Managed Motorways scheme. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 Junction 4 (Coleshill)
The northbound exit slip road and the link road from the M6 northbound to the M42 southbound will be closed overnight from 9.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 22 March to Thursday 25 March for the renewal of road markings. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A449 Gailey to Coven
The northbound and southbound carriageway of the A449 between Gailey and Coven will be closed each night between 8.00pm to 6.00am (not both directions at the same time) from Monday 22 March to Thursday 1 April for carriageway resurfacing and associated works. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 Etruria to Porthill
The northbound A500 between Etruria and Porthill, Stoke-on-Trent, will be closed each night from 8.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 22 March to Monday 29 March as part of resurfacing, safety fence installation, traffic sign replacement and bridge joint scheme. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M40 Junction 15 (Warwick)
The southbound exit slip road of the M40 at junction 15 will be closed each night from 8.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 22 March to Saturday 27 March as part of the M40 Junction 15 improvement works. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M40 Junction 15 (Warwick)
The northbound entry slip road of the M40 at junction 15 will be closed each night from 8.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 22 March to Saturday 27 March as part of the M40 Junction 15 improvement works. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 Junction 3a (M42 / M40 Interchange)
The link road from the southbound M42 at junction 3a to the M40 southbound will be closed overnight from 9.30pm on Monday 22 March to 5.00am on Tuesday 23 March for repairs to overhead signals and signs. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 Junction 9 (Tewkesbury)
The southbound exit slip road of the M5 at junction 9 will be closed each night from 10.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 22 March to Thursday 1 April 2010 for carriageway widening, surfacing, and installation of traffic sensors, traffic signals, signs and road markings. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 Junction 8 (Strensham) to Junction 7 (Worcester South)
The northbound M5 between junctions 8 and 7 (including junction 8 entry slip road) will be closed each night from 8.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 22 March to Saturday 27 March for carriageway resurfacing and installation of traffic sensors. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 Stretton-on-Dunsmore to Thurlaston
The southbound A45 between Stretton-on-Dunsmore and Thurlaston will be closed each night from 9.00pm to 6.00am from Tuesday 23 March to Thursday 1 April for carriageway resurfacing and associated works. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A46 northbound and southbound slip roads on to A46
The following slip roads on to the A46 will be closed overnight from 10.00pm from Monday 22 March to Thursday 8 April (excluding Easter Bank Holiday) for the renewal of road markings:
Leek Wootton to A46 northbound
Kenilworth to A46 northbound and southbound
Warwick to A46 northbound and southbound
Stoneleigh to A46 northbound and southbound
The closures will be installed at different times so as not to conflict with each other or the diversions.
