Kwik-Fit Fleet partner with Autoclenz for free collection and delivery service

Kwik-Fit Fleet will this May extend a previously ‘pilot only’ free fleet vehicle servicing and MoT collection and delivery service, in partnership with Autoclenz, which will initially be launched in around 220 locations, with a view to the initiative being available nationally.

Launched to meet client demand, the added value company car and van collection and delivery service is expected to be requested by most company car and van drivers when the service is operating nationally by the end of the year.

Gary Ralph, the company’s UK business development manager for fleet service, maintenance and repair, said: “Increasingly company car and van drivers do not have the time to take their vehicle to a Kwik-Fit centre and then wait while the service and/or MoT is carried out.

“Our new no cost collection and delivery service overcomes that issue so allows employees to carry on with their work while their vehicle is collected from and then returned to their location of choice.

“Fleet vehicle servicing and MoT work through Kwik-Fit centres is already at record levels and we anticipate that the increased availability of the hassle-free collection and delivery service will trigger further demand.”

The pilot vehicle collection and delivery service was launched earlier this year and involved 30 Kwik-Fit centres in Bristol, West London and South West London. It will now be extended to provide significant UK coverage.

Company car and van drivers can request service when booking their vehicle in for a service and/or MoT through Kwik-Fit’s call centre, who will in turn contact Autoclenz’s collection and delivery team known as Movements by Autoclenz  with all the relevant details. Movements by Autoclenz will then contact the driver the day before the vehicle is due at the Kwik-Fit centre to confirm collection and delivery arrangements.

Instead of conventional vehicle collection or delivery which uses two cars and two drivers, Autoclenz’s pioneering initiative uses a single driver and a small, fuel-efficient, highly manoeuvrable fold-away motorcycle.

Once the work is completed the collection and delivery driver will carry out a wash and vacuum of the vehicle before returning it to the requested location. The collection and delivery driver then removes the scooter from the vehicle and travels to their next job.

Mr Ralph said: “Autoclenz’s collection and delivery team operate within a strict at-work driving code of practice and carry out a comprehensive bodywork inspection of the vehicle both prior to driving it and on its return to the customer.”

Head of Mike Wise said: “Demand for fleet vehicle servicing and MoTs through our centres is at record levels and increasing daily. In the first quarter of 2010 demand for fleet servicing increased 61.7% on the first three months of 2009 and the number of MoTs undertaken on fleet cars and vans increased 56.2% over the same period.

“Customers have requested that we offer a collection and delivery service and, as a result, we anticipate that demand for fleet vehicle servicing and MoTs through our centres will continue to rise.”
