Highways Agency Advises Road Users to Plan Their Journey to the Three Counties Show

The is advising exhibitors and visitors to the Three Counties Show – which runs from Friday 18 June to Sunday 20 June 2010 at the Malvern Show Ground – to plan their journeys and allow plenty of time to get to the event.

The Junction 7 (both directions) is expected to be busy throughout the event, especially during peak hours.

Drivers wishing to attend the event are being asked to plan their journey before setting off as there are alternative routes to the venue which avoid M5 Junction 7. The Junction 1 and Junction 2 offer alternative routes to the show which may reduce the delays experienced on the M5.

Mobile variable message signs will be sited on the M5 to provide live traffic information to road users.

Live information about current traffic conditions on the motorways and major A roads is also offered through a range of other channels as part of the Highways Agency’s commitment to ease congestion and to help drivers make their journeys safely and reliably.

The Agency provides live traffic information via its own website, local and national radio travel bulletins and mobile platforms, such as the iPhone.  The Highways Agency’s application, which was launched in February, has now been downloaded by more than 230,000 people.
