Chatfields launches new R&M service
Chatfields, the commercial vehicle dealer arm of Stratstone with franchises including DAF Trucks, Renault Trucks, Ford and Nissan Commercials, has launched Chatfields Contracts.
The new service aims to bring real operational and financial benefits to its customers by providing pro-actively managed repair and maintenance packages across its entire CV range.
“After consulting a number of operators we felt that if we were going to launch our own R&M packages, we had to offer something different from what is currently available. Moreover, it had to provide exceptional value for money,” says Wayne Edwards, National Franchise Director, Chatfields.
“It was imperative that we utilised the high skill levels and professionalism that currently exists throughout the Chatfields Group. Our unique cost-saving package includes as standard pro-active fleet management: maintaining, servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, supported by the very latest in technology and innovation.”
Payment methodology, driver assistance and fleet management provision of the service is provided in conjunction with iFleet Ltd, the fleet management specialists formed in 2008.
Tim Davies, Managing Director of iFleet comments: “In broad terms, through the use of integrated technology, Chatfield Contracts’ customers will be offered a fixed ‘Pence per Kilometre or Mile’ rate and then charged for the mileage they cover in any given month, rather than the traditional fixed monthly charge. This matches revenue earned by operators to the cost of maintaining the vehicle, which significantly reduces costs incurred should the vehicle be lying idle or during traditional slower periods e.g. Christmas. “
“The package also reduces the administration and losses normally associated with excess mileage charges. In addition to this, we will provide pro-active management of all scheduled and unscheduled events as they occur, documentation and compliance administration, plus a two way communication device designed specifically to assist the driver in any situation he may find himself whilst with his vehicle.”
