A11 Thetford Bypass: lane closures for drainage surveys
Surveys of the drainage system on the A11 Thetford Bypass are due to start next week.
The inspection work will involve a camera survey of manholes and drains to check their general condition and look for signs of damage and the need for cleaning.
The surveys are due to take place over 10 days from Monday 27 September. While they are carried out there will be single lane closures both north and southbound for 1.4 miles between A134 Brandon Road roundabout and the Mundford Road roundabout.
These closures will take place during the day, between 10am and 4pm, out of peak flow hours. No significant delays to traffic are expected.
Julian O’Dell, Highways Agency roads asset manager, said “These are essential camera surveys of the highway manholes and drains to check their general condition and look for signs of damage.
“Regular maintenance of our roads is essential to ensure they are safe and reliable for road users. We will use the survey to prioritise and plan maintenance and repair work.”
