Suzuki’s new Swift wins its class in MPG Marathon

’s all-new took part in the recent 2010 and achieved a spectacular result.

The 1.2 petrol engine was driven by Western Group Regional journalist Dave Moss and Community driving instructor Mike Hull; it achieved an overall fuel consumption figure of 68.10mpg, an improvement of 20.5 per cent on the official consumption figure of 56.5mpg and the winner of the competition’s class 1 ‘improvement’ category.

The MPG Marathon took 34 competing vehicles on a challenging 380-mile route designed to reflect normal daily driving conditions and included major roads, motorways and dual carriageways.

“The 2010 MPG Marathon has again been an excellent opportunity to showcase Suzuki’s commitment to producing fuel efficient, cleaner cars and this event has certainly endorsed that,” commented David Seward, Suzuki’s Senior Director Sales and Marketing.

The all new Suzuki Swift had emissions of 116g/km, £30 annual VED charge and group 8E insurance.
