Fleet Alliance will provide an assorted fleet of vehicles, including people carriers for Maggie’s staff and volunteers, 4×4 vehicles for teams of off-road marshals, road cars for route marshals and medics and mini-buses for participants.

Earlier this year, a team of eight hardy souls from the Fleet Alliance head office in Glasgow took on the challenge with great success – raising an astonishing £13,000 for Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, the firm’s nominated charity, due to support from fleet clients, suppliers, staff and family members.

Martin Brown, managing director at Fleet Alliance, said: “The eighth Monster Bike and Hike will take place next April, and we are proud to be once again involved in this fantastic team event for which so many people give so generously.

“Not only will we once again take part in the challenge itself, but we have also committed to being the first transport partner for the event. And as transport partner, we will use our expertise and professional service to provide the various forms of mobility required to make next year’s ‘Monster’ the biggest and best yet,” he said.

Gemma McDonald, corporate partnership manager at Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, said: “In the UK, one in three people will experience cancer, and at Maggie’s our aim is to provide support to as many people as possible who have been affected by this life-changing disease.

“The Monster Bike and Hike plays a vital role in opening the doors of Maggie’s Centres and we are thrilled that next year’s event will have the support of Fleet Alliance as transport partner, which should help us to make this the best Monster yet.”

Maggie’s Cancer Care Charity comprise five centres in Scotland, including Edinburgh and Glasgow, plus London, Oxford and south west Wales, with three more planned in Nottingham, the north east and the Cotswolds.
