Midland News Association choose new fleet provider

UK independent newspaper publisher Midland News Association has selected ING Car Lease as its fleet provider. The leasing company is supplying 300 vehicles for the business’s sales and management teams.

The publisher, which is responsible for the Express & Star and Shropshire Star, together with a series of paid for and free weekly titles, relies on its fleet to keep its sales force mobile.

“We selected based not only on its competitive pricing, but its high level of service and professionalism. We had to impose short and strict deadlines on the team at to complete our order before manufacturer price increases in the new tax year and they met these every step of the way. I have been very impressed with the company’s efficiency. Providing staff that drive regularly for business with a company car is important to Midland News Association to ensure we are fulfilling our employer health and safety obligations. Knowing that employees are driving safe, well maintained vehicles is a key priority for us,” commented David Hughes, financial director of Midland News Association.

“Being selected as a fleet provider for Midland News Association is fantastic news for Car Lease and further cements the strong 2010 we’ve had to date. Importantly, we had to work to particularly tight deadlines in setting up this account to ensure we met the client’s needs and through careful account management and client liaison we delivered,” added Adam Sturdy, account manager at Car Lease.
