TomTom begin search for the new Brian Blessed
Following a Facebook campaign that attracted over 25,000 supporters, national treasure Brian Blessed was last week announced as a new voice of TomTom.
The Flash Gordon actor is now spearheading a campaign for members of the public to become a Voice of TomTom.
"Why have a boring old computer voice when you can have a beardy old me. Better still, enter the contest and see if you can get more votes than I did!" commented Blessed.
The winner will have their voice professionally recorded and available as a free download from TomTom in time for Christmas. As well as having their voice recorded for use as a Voice of TomTom, the winner will also win a New Renault Mégane Coupé Cabriolet.
Entry to the competition is via Twitter and Facebook. Voice of TomTom wannabes are asked to tell Brian Blessed their traffic story which must include the following phrases:
- TomTom;
- Traffic;
- Destination;
- Va Va Voom.
Entry instructions
Facebook: Record a 30-second video of yourself telling your traffic story, and post it to the wall of the TomTom Facebook Page. If you have a webcam, you can do this straight from the Facebook wall, by clicking on the video icon underneath the comment box. You’ll have to ‘Like’ the page first.
Twitter: Record a 60-second audio or video clip using a service such as Audioboo or TwitVid and tweet it to @UKTomTom with the hashtag #VoiceOfTomTom. You’ll also need to be following @UKTomTom so they can DM you if you win.
The winner will be selected by a judging panel and announced on Friday 3rd December.
