Culvert repair on A30 London Road at the Bull Dog Junction, Ashford

Essential culvert repair works are to be carried out near Ashford at the Bull Dog Junction intersection between the London Road, the B378 Stanwell Road and Town Lane, the Highways Agency said today.

The work starts on Saturday 13 November 2010 at 22h00 and is due to be completed on the 15th November at 05h00, weather permitting. To minimise disruption to road users, this work is being carried out 24/7.

To limit disruption to drivers, we are keeping one lane running in each direction on the A30 throughout the duration of the works. However, we would encourage drivers to use the signed diversion routes where possible. For drivers travelling eastbound leave the A30 at Crooked Billet roundabout to use the A3044 Stanwell Moor Road or the A308 Staines Bypass. Drivers travelling Westbound should leave the A30 at Clockhouse Roundabout to use the B3003 Clockhouse lane or the A30 Great South West Road.

Local traffic wanting to turn right to cross the intersection at the Bull Dog Junction will be required to use the following diversion while the work is ongoing:

* A30 eastbound traffic wanting to turn right onto B378 Stanwell Road should continue to the Clockhouse Roundabout, to travel back on the A30 westbound, to then turn left onto B378 Stanwell Road.

* A30 westbound traffic wanting to turn right onto Town Lane should continue to the Crooked Billet Roundabout to travel back on the A30 eastbound, to then turn left onto Town Road.

There may be some noise caused as a result of this essential work. However to limit disruption to local residents, we hope to carry out as much of this work as possible during the day.
