Drivers advised to ‘get a grip’ from Kwik-fit fleet
Kwik-Fit Fleet launched its winter tyre programme in September and with the first snow of the winter having already fallen in some parts of the country demand for these tyres has accelerated over the last two months to more than 2,200 winter tyres a week being fitted by its technicians. There are fears, however, that a current worldwide tyre shortage could mean that there are insufficient winter tyres available to meet demand.
Peter Lambert, Sales Director for Kwik-Fit Fleet, said: “We have been advising our fleet customers since September to order winter tyres if they require them.
“While some organisations were quick off the mark, others have still to make a final decision. The rate at which our technicians are fitting winter tyres is growing daily, however with the first serious winter weather having arrived, the time has come to be decisive.
British Gas, is one organisation who has made the decision to fit winter tyres to more than 200 vans operating in the Scottish Highlands and the Peak District.
Kwik-Fit Fleet offers a ‘hotel’ facility that sees it remove, pack, label and store each company car and van’s summer tyres, returning these in the spring and providing the same service for winter tyres to be removed and stored, all for a fee of £40.
Fleet decision-makers can arrange their winter tyre schedule and book an appointment to have fitment carried out at their location of choice by contacting Kwik-Fit Fleet’s dedicated hotline – 01698 846457.
